# AI Expert Finder

ResearchHub's AI Expert Finder identifies the researchers best suited to each Request for Proposals (RFP) and invites them to apply, often with a proposal already drafted for them.

Most funding opportunities depend on the right researchers happening to see them. The Expert Finder reverses that: instead of waiting for applicants, ResearchHub finds them for the funder and makes applying take minutes instead of days. ResearchHub reaches thousands of qualified experts this way every week.

Note: The Expert Finder is usable only to moderators/admin on ResearchHub to support funders hosting RFPs on the platform.

**How it works**

1. **Reads the RFP.** The Expert Finder uses the full context of the RFP, including its scientific question, field, methods, budget, and eligibility, to build a profile of the ideal applicant.

2. **Searches for matching researchers.** Using that context plus tunable prompts and parameters, it finds researchers whose publication record and expertise fit the RFP.
3. **Pre-drafts a proposal.** For each matched researcher, AI drafts a proposal tailored to both the RFP and that researcher's published work, lowering the activation energy of applying.
4. **Runs automated outreach.** An automated outreach flow contacts each matched researcher with a personalized invitation and, where available, their pre-drafted proposal. ResearchHub runs thousands of these outreaches every week.

5. **Researcher refines and submits.** Interested researchers review and edit the draft in the AI Assistant, or start fresh, then submit their proposal to the RFP.

**What this means for funders**

Every RFP posted on ResearchHub gets targeted outreach to qualified researchers, with no recruiting work on the funder's side. Application get submitted much quicker than traditional venues, and even narrow, specialized RFPs can still reach the handful of labs worldwide that can actually do the work.

**If you received an invitation**

The Expert Finder matched your published work to an open RFP on ResearchHub. Any pre-drafted proposal is yours to edit or discard.

**Also used for peer review**

The same matching helps the ResearchHub Foundation identify qualified peer reviewers for funding proposals.
