# Bounties

Bounties are how ResearchHub uses ResearchCoin (RSC) to pay for peer review. Each bounty offers RSC to qualified researchers who review a funding proposal on the platform.

Bounties are opened only by the ResearchHub Foundation, and only on funding proposals. Users cannot create their own bounties.

Approved reviews earn $150 in RSC, with up to two paid reviews per proposal. Every review is checked by the ResearchHub Foundation's editorial team before payment, and reviews typically arrive within about 10 days after bounty closure. To be eligible, reviewers must verify their identity and link their ORCID account.
